Two great singers singing the classic 'Hello',
I know the sound mixing is not great,
its purposely just showing how different the two versions are, still, I like it :))

and of course Luthers version is live, I love the two high notes he hits in this song, havent heard it in another one of his. And he looks so serious and into it too, its great :)

  • @truthwar333 Hahahahaha! Your comment made me laugh. Likes of singing is purely subjective, but I think just about anyone would agree that Luther has a much more dynamic and "naturally gifted" voice. Lionel is amazing, but come on... there is just no comparison to Luther. I'm still laughing.

  • I have to agree..... Lionel is a great singer. But Luther gives me goosebumps on top of goosebumps. Always have and always will. Luther isn't having problems with the song, he just makes it his own.

  • I am in love with song... R.I.P Luther!

  • Luther is the only one I know that could take someonelse's song beat the mess out of them with it. Then sell it and go platinum. That man's gift was unmatched. Imagine if sung a gospel with someone like Shirley Ceasar.

  • @shadowphurba Damn straight... They're both great at what they do. Some might even say amazing.

  • @JMinjaB thank you. i mean i like both singers but both have different passion :)

  • @shadowphurba I agree.

  • @Visionary0001 i agree somewhat with your opinion, i would debate the fact that luther was not a great songwriter??? just look at his credits history! arranging was his forte and probably what he loved doing best,, fast songs no, was not his strongest thing, balladeer yes! no better a vocalist have i ever heard ever,

  • @funjonny21 LIONEL RICHIE is a SONGWRITER first, and a vocalist 2nd, which he will admit in interviews. In the early days of the Commodores, he didn't even want to sing lead vocals, but the record label insisted that he share front man status with Walter Orange, because they thought his light-skinned look would attract more mainstream appeal.

LUTHER VANDROSS was one of the greatest balladeers of all time, and this is his strong suit, not songwriting, arranging, or singing fast tunes.

  • How can anyone even try to compare the two lionel's is a studio cut and luther's is live you cannot even begin to compare them they both have trult amazing vioces why do we even want to

JUST enjoy the beauty of each of them R.I.P. Luther you are missed

  • @JMinjaB what you mean?

  • @shadowphurba ^This so much.
