Just to give you an idea in the performance difference between the new Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium and the older Q1P, I've got a comparison of H.264 playback. A 720p HD movie trailer in Quicktime, to be specific. At a 5.8 Mbps bitrate, this pushes a little beyond the limits of what should be expected from a UMPC, but I think it's important to see how these devices handle it.

The Eee pc is an lot better. They have am simple GMA booster for the Eee pc that boost the speed from 200mhz to 400mhz.. Also you can install cccp codex and have codeavc h and have the codeavc decode it.

ty for posting this. im hopeing to get the Samsung Q1 Ultra Premium soon to use as a portable internet pc and some basic gaming. ive seen fear,world of warcraft and sims 2 running nicely on it.

this isn't an accurate test, you had two totally different OS's running.
Vista takes up quite a bit more CPU power than XP does, run it again... this time with the same OS and i'll believe it
