This is my new living room tank..300litres and setup as a blackwater biotope. The fish in this tank are all south american and thrive in the soft water with a low PH..I now need a nice shoal of tetras to finish it off..
Awesome tank! When your "topping off" evaporated water, do you use plain water or water with the blackwater mixture? I understand solids don't evaporate soo..
Rummy nose are often found with p. altum in nature... i dont see why they would become live food. hey what did you do to achieve the blackwater... peat moss ?
Dude, phenomenal tank! I'm slowly fixing my 55g into a blackwater biotope. Going to add a male and small harem of apistrogramma cockatoos and neon/red phantom tetras. BUT, the plants you have floating up top to subdue the light; are they mature Pistia Stratiotes (water lettuce) or are they something different? You've gotta tell me because those are great looking. Again, spectacular job on your biotope!
it depends ... I had angels before they ate all my cardinals but now I have 3 angels 5 discus they are not eating them .. I give them food like 8 times a day Artemia is number one then I have shrimp

Sweet, beautiful set up!
Keep the angels well fed and they will hopefully leave the tetras be. I have giant Altums with Cardinals.

nice tank
Do not put small tetras with angelfish, they will be live-food.
