MARLOS NOBRE,
Concerto Breve for Piano & Orch,
Part 1.
Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: José Serebrier
Piano: Marlos Nobre
Teatro Teresa Carreño, Caracas.
The critic of Discophage (France) wrote: "Concerto Breve from 1969 is an extraordinary work exploring every way of developing the simplest musical element-the pitch A. But it is also a highly evocative, coloristic and dramatic composition: ONE OF THE MOST STRIKING PIANO CONCERTOS WRITTEN IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY.
This is a great Concerto from the XX Century, one of the greatest among the Concertos of Prokofieff, Ravel, Bartok renewing the genre with a new conception of the sound. I love it since the first hearing, great performance both for pianist-composer and the wonderful Simon Bolivar Orchestra from Venezuela.
