On our way to Balicasag Island from Panglao. Between the two islands is an area where dolphins live. It's unfortunate though that I only have a phone camera and I wasn't able to capture to video the dolphins that we saw.
In the first part, there are supposed to be dolphins in the upper-left and centre part of the video but they didn't surface much. In the second part, I try to give an explanation as to why it was difficult to get a good view of the dolphins.
The explanation, roughly translated in English: the dolphins are afraid to stay on the surface of the water because the boats scare them. At the time, there were many boats in the area and every time a group of dolphins is spotted, the boats rush toward them but the sound of the boats' motors stresses the dolphins out, scares them, so they go back under.
The third part shows another group of dolphins that surfaced just in front of our boat. It was a big group but I wasn't able to capture the dolphins on video. We were lucky that time. We had been drifting for several minutes, keeping the engine quiet, and the dolphins just popped out in front of us!
The picture at the side of the video was taken on Balicasag Island where we went snorkeling, had lunch, and saw the broadcast of the Villoria-Solis bout. Slide show of still images from Balicasag is forthcoming.
