Anyone got any ideas what this is? Single dash mounted blue led light, no siren and by the looks of it not in a rush.
Also has a roof rack so it looks like a builders van...very odd

  • Could just be a met support vehicle, & doesn't realise he's left the blues on...

  • @SOCO911 doubt its a met support unit. all SOCO units are marked and are normally smaller vauxhall combo's

  • To be honest, I reckon it's just a white van driver that has got hold of some inside blues for the adrenalin rush. several things indicate such a thing:

    1) the inside models such as those are much more difficult to identify for police when u drive by as they are pretty rpofil to the dash and let's visible than roof beacons...

2)his got blues but no sirens and stops at lights and if he was in a rush he'd try to push through on the roundabout at the end of the video

    3)I could go on but...

  • @ManiERH the plates look dodgy too?

  • Looks like he wasn't even aware the blues were on as he was making no attempt to make progress through the traffic

  • @mrspivvy big and clever calling them pigs...well done have a blue peter badge. Got no respect for them or the job they do yet you'd be the first to complain if they didn't show to your house being broken in to!

  • Just some cock head window cleaner who went to halfords and got himself some blues to flash at people.

A friend of mine had some with a home made siren on his Mazda RX8 and used to put them on so that people would move out of the way. It worked really well :)

  • Oiiii that's my fish n' chips delivery van

  • I think the pigs are starting to use dirty tricks. I know people who got pulled by an unmarked car with a roofbox....unmarked car with "baby on board" sticker so could well be a legitimate pig van.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh does it matter !!!!!!!!

  • i agree with maniERH probably some builder bloke trying to be clever

  • roof rails or ladder bars lol

  • @garaobriain There are strict laws preventing drivers from having blue lights on their vehicles. Not 'any driver' other than one of the emergancy services can use blue lights. I have seen ukemergency.co.uk and they clearly state that you must not under any circumstances fit your car with green or blue lights. Orange lights are legal.

  • @Stormtrooper85L

Sadly not, you just need to be on Emergency business (as stated in the road lighting regs) and comply with the code. however using it as an "Emergency Vehicle" would probably invalidate your insurance, so wants seizing for that. Roof rack looks wrong, as does the state of the van, wants pulling and plates checked.

  • Probably an ARV. My brother works in Leicester ARU and they have an unmarked Mercedez Vito Van. Equipped with blues for response but uually done to gather intelligence.

  • maybe its a van with roofracks on, no wonder this world is so fucking stupid

  • @Stormtrooper85L Blue Light Exemptions

"There is no authority that issues permission to use blue, green or amber lights on your vehicle. You must just follow the law.

Any driver can drive using blue lights without needing any higher qualification than a driving licence." (ukemergency.co.uk)

  • private ambulance of some sort?

  • I don't think its any thing he has proberly got some blue light due to police now use led dash lights not roters bars.

  • @Stormtrooper85L Yep your right, but the ammount of boy racers and the like that ive seen with the little blue lights in their headlights is unreal and the police dont seem to bother for some reason?

  • @CaptainKidd2006 It's illegal to drive around with blue lights without a special Emergancy Service License. This driver is illegal, and should be fined.

  • its a van with some flashing lights bought from ebay whats the big deal?

  • Who cares lol

  • OR... it could just be some dick who's bought a strobe kit off eBay?

  • @ilovehackingman that's a ridiculous story

  • it could be a fire / paramedic / police personal car/van cuz there personal cars are some times fitted with dashboard lights so when they traveling to work and get stock in traffic they can use them so they wont be late as the job does deal with life and death and they cant be late cuz someones life can be on the line

  • That's one of the Met's horse transport vans, The new born horses are placed in the back and taken to be trained and looked after before they can become real police horses. They have blue lights because they can be called out since the officers inside are trained police officers. Guess he just forgot to turn the lights off.

  • @jimmyhoffa9 Well, that's the thing though, is it really owned by the police or is it some random white-van man with leds in his cab.

  • @Someloke8895 does it matter? it'll just tell you its owned by the police. wont achieve anything

  • @AllrounderNo1 I think it's because I was looking as it turned, so the 55 became 65. and the T looked like a 7
