For whatever reason, this church was begun, then never completed. Ran out of money, perhaps? Divine intervention? This video was filmed from a distance of about 500 feet, and I was standing right next to the fenceline separating the large field in front of me from Rt 32. On my next trip out this way, I'll try to sneak inside one of the many gaping holes in this structure to take a peek.

As of 11/9/08, it appears that construction had resumed on the structure. When I drove past, considerable progress was evident. Apparently the building is finally coming to the light at the end of the tunnel. I was wondering what bank provided the funding, since in this day, the crippling credit crunch crippling the US has pretty much dried up most sources of funding for new home purchases and other reasons for borrowing. It is good to see the building finally nearing competion.

  • When doing any out side video, you need a wind screen for your microphone as there is too much wind noise.

  • @patsaxon- It wasn't as if I had planned this video. I was driving along and there's this abandoned building along the side of the road. If the wind noise is too annoying, can't you simply mute the volume?

Why do people make such efforts to complain?

  • this building is actually The Red Barn Convention Center now. there is gonna be a bluegrass "concert" some time this summer there.

  • I know.... I was by it yesterday (3/15/10).

  • When are people going to realize that God does not dwell in temple built by men's hands?

  • The building failed because it wasn't the will of God, but rather the will of man.

  • How do you get these people to see how far off base they are....Its not about how fancy or impressive the church is. That abandoned Church is was paid for out of donations from working people I am sure.

  • Mega churches = mega nonsense. Even joel osteen's *church* has a lot of KOOKY things going on there,,Joel has somethings to say, I agree, milk is OK for some beginners,,not after 1 year as a follower of Christ.

Strange how these *wolves* can find enough goats to build, finance a big building.and the *elders* can live a luxurious lifestyle.

Poor america, bked on every level.

Churches are losing *members*, notice empty pews

    Also avoid *home churches*

Seek Christ , patience, CLEAN life

  • Hmmm...reminds me of an incident in the old Testament.

For some reason, I was thinking of the Tower of Babel. The parallels and irony is rather amusing.

  • Poor old God. I bet he's very dissappointed about this.

  • it should be build to be an a Church!

    what's wrong with this peoples!!!

  • This building now is one of the most beautiful convention halls in Southern Ohio. It is now called the Red Barn Convention Center. Thanks to the Cantrell family for bringing this building back to life and the continued music festivals that have showed much success! Richard

  • Would have been useless either way.

  • I need to say this. The building has been bought by the cantrell family and it was a curch, ran out of money now houses the red barn convention center
