raising beams

Finally I'm getting around to posting more video from the house I built. These are old now ... 2002ish. The house is long finished, but I've moved on to new adventures. This vid is about raising a beam that supports the 2nd floor over the garage. The beam is constructed from 2 2x12's w/ several sheets of corrugated steel sandwiched in the middle to stiffen it up, all bolted together. This was a much cheaper way than buying a glue-lam beam ... and it works well. The floor is still solid after 7 years anyway.
