This movie was good but it really confused the whole point of the movie, and how she was driven mad there wasn't much information.
-
one of the best films i've ever seen

It wasn't too bad.
But read my comment on Youtube about the film.

I watch this movie tonight with subtitles.
I enjoyed it BUT it really needed to delve more into the history of mental illness & it's treatments to help explain what the point of this movie actually was.

"Opium: Diary of a Madwoman" -- Dr. Josef Brenner, a morphine-addicted Hungarian neurologist, believes drugs will cure his writer's block. Brenner travels to a remote asylum for women, hoping to obtain morphine under the pretext of conducting a psychoanalytic study. There, he becomes drawn to a suicidal patient, Gizella , who believes her soul has been captured by the devil. Brenner and Gizella begin a dangerously co-dependent affair that threatens to send them both over the edge.'
