As you hear the brilliant voice of Iraj with a marvellous perfomance in "Dashti, دشتی "! - I believe that Iraj has done an excellent and exceptional presentation in this Golha program "DASHTI dastgah دستگاه دشتی (Persian Music System)". The words used in this GOLHA are probably from "SA'DI", and the orchestral performance was made by HOMAYOUN KHORRAM, همایون خرم Reza VARZANDE, رضا ورزنده Hossein HAMEDANIAN, حسین همدانیان Ahamad EBADI, احمد عبادی & Javad Maroufi, جواد معروفی. This piece of music was originally made for the Iranian National Radio during the 60-70:es. In those days IRAJ voice was at the top and he did many live performances in Iranian national Radio program (before even the TV set were popular) Sometimes he performed special songs for the Iranian Radio theather, the Night-Story program "Dastane Shab, داستان شب " (for instance: the story of "Gol Amoo, داستان گل عمو)" and mostly together with the famouse music players like Mr. Asadollah Malek, اسدالله ملک and Farhang Sharif, فرهنگ شریف so gorgously fitted just to those Radio theaters. Beside the Radio & TV, Iraj also did tremendous numbers of POP songs موسیقی پاپ , many songs for Persian movies آواز برای فیلمها ـ آهنگهای سفارشی (Fardin mimicked them mostly), Classical Persian Music موسیقی کلاسیک ایران , Solo avaz, آواز بدون موزیک , Zorkhaneh Avaz, آواز زورخانه ای and even performed beautifully the avaz of "Kooche Baaghi, غزل کوچه باغی" which is known as "Bayaate Tehran, بیات تهران" now. His songs were heard from the Radio, TV, Movies, cassettes, gramophone discs and naturally people in all ages appreciated his voice a great deal. Iraj was truly an actor in performing different kinds of music and he never stopped in one place repeating himself. He knew that he was able to do it and he did everything like no one else has done yet up to the present time! I would say that I have been always amazed of hearing so many faces in his voice (varieties and diversities). When it comes to the cinema and singing in the Persian movies, he did the best possible and people appreciated his performances together with the popular actor "Fardin" (they truly fitted each other). Considering such many-sidedness in performance, no one else could be compared with him (in the male section) but in the female section we have had the great singer "AHDIEH" which was a female Iraj. These 2 singers were truly professional therefore they got lots of orders from the movie-industry with the high paid checks too! .... Thanks to those movies we still have the privilege of listening to their lovely voices of 60es and 70es'.
