Hmm this is interesting =) I came across this while I was looking for something else.

But, I told my boyfriend that I loved him before he said it to me and it didn't go badly. (The way I did it was hilarious/cute but I was so nervous haha) To me saying that to somebody is a big deal, especially somebody you are in a relationship with. Saying 'I love that book' and 'I love you' are completely different things and saying it a lot is a way some girls show that they mean it.
