Feeling sore does not equate to building muscle.

@trekgeek1 COOL i didnt know tht

Yes, but not excessively sore. Soreness means that you damaged your muscle fibers. During the repair process the muscle fiber swells and presses on nerves. This repair leaves your muscles a little larger. Too sore indicates that you have damaged your muscles beyond the necessary point needed to build muscle. If you are too sore you cannot work out for a long time and you may also hurt yourself. Soreness probably shouldn't continue beyond 3 days normally.

Yes they build muscle. Your muscles don't care if they are lifting 20 pounds of metal, water, or band resistance. It all feels the same to muscles. The difference is that bands give linear variable resistance. A 20 pound dumbbell always weighs 20 pounds. A bands "weight" depends on how far you pull it. Don't get sucked into tone/build. If you are sore the next day you will build muscle. "toning" is kind of a fake term that means you used your muscle but didn't break it down enough to be sore.
