I said the Sixties were easier times. Yes there was social injustice. The atrocities levied against people of color were disgraceful. I am saying that life then was not so complicated. We did not fear our neighbors. We did not need car alarms, houses were not barricaded fortresses. No mass murders of innocent bystanders: Oklahoma City, Columbine, Aurora, etc, etc. People did not stockpile automatic weapons. Now our lives are filled with so much junk and profits at any cost.

Sorry but I can never agree with the many assertions I read on You Tube that the 60s were innocent, better times. Social injustice and exploitation, child abuse, domestic violence and crime were just as rife.It is just that the media was alot less sophisticated and these things were not reported. I was a small child but life was never easy. The music and fashions were exciting, but it was not Utopia. Now people have more power and the Internet has given them free speech like never before
