This is my female cockatoo dwarf cichlid defending her fry from predators. She is in my 95G planted tank, with 25 emperor tetra, 3 neritina natalensis, 36 Amano shrimp, 2 Atya gabonensis (shrimp), 3 otocinclus, 2 Crossocheilus siamensis and 6 other cockatoo dwarf cichlid. Enjoy !

Actually, yes they are. The only time they become aggressive is when the male's ready to spawn, or when the female is defending her fry.

Cockatoo generally arn't a community fish due to them being a cichlid,
Coconut shell will be great, all my tanks have one and plant such as cabomba eodia crypts vallis and java moss and java fern are all great.
