WT - I totally agree - knowing the source trump everything. And it is not as hard as people think. I still try to grow as much as I can myself, but It is not enough. But I can find almost everything I need in a few hours drive. There are people out there doing good things, you just have to look for them. And it is fun and educational to know the people who produce your food.

Wow - that's an incredible story about the Italian wine owner being driven from Buffalo!!
Yeah - that's one of the great things about ATB. Everything on the menu is phenomenal, so if you must eat or drink on a budget, you're still getting the best! :)
And Marcus is absolutely right - local food is the major score. Certified organic costs a farmer beaucoup bucks. Knowing the source trumps certification.
