The best solution (as we do in France) is to heat the oil directly in the fondu pot.
This way there is no danger of seting your house aflame during the oil transfert and no it doesn't take age for the oil to boil.

It should read Fondue Bourguignonne, not Bourguignon.

very dangerous...you need to take the fondue pot away from the flame when transfering the oil....if the oil touches the fire your house will go up like a match stick box

why is it a grease fire risk If you follow the instructions, and transfer the hot oil into a pre-lit fondue set, which would be hot as well, as its pre-lit, it will be fine. done it stacks of times.
