Will they EVER release this wonderful soundtrack on CD?  Is this film available on DVD yet? I love this version of the story. I believe this song was lifted from this movie in inserted into the Sherlock Holmes B'way musical BAKER STREET.

The S/T was released a few years ago, as a 3CD set from Film Score Monthly. Well worth the money, you can still buy it as far as I can see. And I didn't know about the song being recycled for that musical - which sounds appropriate.

Great film...never got it's due and Peter and Pet were so wonderful.....talk about being underrated!

Strange that a gem like this came from what I found to be a rather tiresome show. My apologies in advance if you happen to be a fan of Goodbye Mr Chips, but frankly I found this song to be the only highlight :) Still, each to his own :)

Goodye Mr. Chips is available on DVD--I bought it about a year ago.

Actually, Leslie Briccusse re-used the song in his musical, SHERLOCK HOLMES, in the late 80's, early 90's, which never made it to Broadway. BAKER STREET was on B'way in 1965.

Great film, I had never heard of, then watched by accident on TCM one afternoon. Quite stunning. Of course, with music by Leslie Bricusse and John Williams, how could it be anything else.
