@oons58 I don't believe Ali hated white people in general. He was angry with 'white America'. His extreme views were informed by the NOI but the evidence of who Ali was is shown by his actions. When he went to the UK to fight Henry Cooper, he built some long lasting relationships with some of the sports writers. And he loved the people of Britain. Watch the documentary 'Ali in Britain'. Also two of the closest relationships in his professional career were Angelo Dundee and Howard Cosell.

@oons58 No he WAS. That's past tense. Its easy to lable a man racist when you take his views outside of context. He was born into a segregated, racist America, which was the catalyst for the extreme views of the NOI, who Ali gravitated to for obvious reasons. But like Malcolm X, he changed his views, as grew older and became wiser.
