what after market parts do you exactly have on it? on mine i have a slip on pipe and a UNI air filter. what gear are you pulling those high speed wheelies in, 4th,5th? i have mine geared for more torque but less top speed and mine doesnt have enuff to get her up in 5th and a little work in 4th. 3rd is pretty easy. any cheap suggestions? i just rejetted mine and going to do new air filter spark plug and oil change for the spring. she is gonna be running mint but basically stock for performance.

@JCUVAJ The high speed wheelies are all done in 5th, the ones at the end are 3rd or 4th, i have a wiseco aftermarket piston with 10:1 compression, fmf powercore 4 silencer, k&n air filter, and thats it for main modifications. Cheap suggestions would be getting hot cams, thats the only thing i have not done to mine, which i am going to do soon. Good luck!

Late last summer I picked up a 2000 XR400.  Haven't really gotten it out yet, just short rides in 1st & 2nd. Nice Vid. Wish I could ride like that again...but it's been way too long since I could do that stuff.

@11ciofe do yourself a favor and get stage 2 right off the bat. Stage 1 hotcams just aren't much better than stock.

Im trying to trade my built 04 kx250f for an xr400r...I love xrs...they are indestructable...becaue they dont have titanuium valves you can suck a lil dirt in and still be fine :)..i have grew up on xr80, xr100, and a 200r but started racing more seriously so i got a race 250f. But i want to get back into enduro so id like to get a xr400r...They are rare..ive only seen 650s for sale but when one pops up im snagging it..And btw i got a drz400sm...Bought that instead of a streetbike. :)
