Sneaker wave overcomes children and elderly on Oregon Coast.
Footage my mother took from a beachfront Condo on 10-24-10. She was filming the sea when she saw this scene from their balcony. It was stormy and warnings were out all over to stay away from the water.

There are sneaker waves that happen when the tide is coming in and then there are just mini Tsunamis (what that looks like). Underwater avalanches on the chelf and eathquakes deep in the sea cause them. The Pacific is a monster.

My heart sank when I saw this...I am on the fire department here in Rockaway Beach and this video is an awesome help! I am going to post it to the Fire Department Page on Facebook! I can't tell you how many times people have bee injured or killed by crushing logs in the surf.
