The Bridge focuses on the large number of suicides that occur each year at the Golden Gate Bridge, capturing footage of the suicides and interviewing family members. Also interviewed are people who have attempted suicide at the bridge, witnesses of the suicides, and a jump survivor.

The movie was shot with multiple cameras pointed at a notorious suicide spot on the bridge during 2004. It captured 23 people as they took their final plunge, and then offers interviews with grieving families.

Here is the article that inspired this film.

  • Poor seal - saved a man's life and God gets all the credit :(

  • Kevin is fucking hilarious. But no kevin, it was not "God." It was a seal. An awesome fucking seal. Not an invisible man in the sky who wants your money. A seal.

  • @khstar God put that seal there...just like he appoints all those priests to fuck little boys.

  • Wow does no one think even a small part of God exists?? That's so weird to me O.o and I'm not a real religious person. Yeah I'm a Catholic but I still believe what I believe and not totally what my religion 'says' I need to believe. I believe there is a God out there but I don't force that on people either so it's just a little weird to see so many that are so, almost, Threatened by him I guess you could say? It could have been one little thing God did that made that seal show up, like the wind.

  • Its so sickening that he thinks ''god'' saved him out of the 7 billion people on earth for crying out loud! The seal saved him not ''god'', but a seal. So the seal should get the credit! This shows that even a seal could have the heart to save a dying person.

  • "I didn't die jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, a shark is going to eat me. This is ridiculous!"

Kevin has a great personality. I hope he is OK. He should write a memoir about his experiences and survival.

  • Animals are capable of intentionally saving lives as well so I think you should at least say god bless that seal..

  • @RuneFinity44 Maybe the seal made an account and disliked it for not getting credit.

  • just put up a fence, holy shit

  • I really do feel for Kevin. It's hard for him, just existing. Anyone who's suicidal has that mentality that your life can't get any worse. And that it will never get better. Now Kevin is an advocate for people that are contemplating death, and I think that's amazing

  • Kevin believes that God is what saved him. You, as in a general statement, believe it was just a seal and not God. What does it matter? Let this dude believe it was God. He's not hurting anyone by it. My goodness.

  • My belief isn't the same as those who disagreed with my statement. Many were rude and disrespectful, but it's pretty much ok with me. My intent wasn't to offend anyone- but if that's how you took it then so be it. I believe what I believe- God is mystical and probably "pretend,: but I'd rather believe in something than nothing at all. If this is what holds me together, if it's what saved his life, then so be it . . . let it be.
