Hmmm, Having watched Ruffian/Foolish Pleasure I'm was opposed to fillies taking on the colts. But what RA has done plus Zenyatta in the BC Classic I'm starting to think JJ is right. Let the best race with the best. Maybe RA and Zen have finally let the great Ruffain rest in peace. Very happy JJ is letting RA race as a 4yo, to bad Zenyatta is retiring at 6, but it's time to be a mommy. Hope she lives long and happy and makes lots of beatiful babies.

Yes I agree. The excitement of fillies racing and winning against males made horse racing go from hamburger to a juicy flavorful slice of filet mignon! Especially to see how sound Rachel Alexandra is, she raced and won 8 races without any injuries (compared to all those other colts this year that had to take time out to heal or were forced into retirement: I Want Revenge, MTB, SB,Nicanor, Beethoven, etc).
