Well, one of my many wishes came true. I recieved a heated bird bath I had on my Christmas wish list from our son. Despite the unseasonably warm weather we're having, I decided to set it up in preparation for the cold weather I know will be coming our way soon.

  • @nananel1 Everything I have learned about watering says water your trees and bushes until the ground is frozen., so go for it and know that winter will get to you very soon and your trees will be green and happy. I would not water plants or bulbs at this time, just trees and bushes. Happy Winter, now that it is 1 ½ months shorter. Lynn

  • We have been having the 40, 50 and 60 degree January days in Nebraska as well. My question is to water or not to water. I don't want them to dry out, but at the same time, I don't want to encourage then to bud...which causes the most harm?

  • @melhaury London, lots of rain? We finally got our first snow, 6”. We too had lots of active squirrels. I hope they left some of my tulip bulbs for next Spring’s bloom. Enjoy London. Lynn

  • @nanmol123 You are so close…and so close to Monches Farm too, one of our favorites. Thanks for the info on the birdbath. So far NOBODY has even looked at ours. Thanks for the heads up on keeping it full. I’ll be mindful and what out for those pesky squirrels too. Enjoy our first snow, maybe the bath will get some action now. Lynn

  • I have the exact model you showed. There's something that the squirrels like about it because I've seen them trying to chew on it. You'll need to keep an eye on it daily, because it can dry out faster than you'd think. I'm in Colgate, so we've got the same weather .... which is supposed to actually turn into Winter overnight?? We'll see.

  • Here in London,ky, it's *60 right now on Jan 11...so hard to believe. Moved up here from Louisiana 4 years ago. Last fall, I saw soooo many squirrels hiding nuts...thought we were going to have a rough winter...maybe it's still to come??? Love all your videos! Thanks!!!
