Seniors and the Price of Drugs

The tough economic times are affecting everyone in many different ways. For senior citizens, their budgets are a bit tighter than others so the downturn in the economy hurts them hard.

So, to deal with having to pay rent or mortgages along with utility bills, groceries, and other necessities, some seniors are deciding to cut back on their medications all in the effort to save money. This of course puts seniors health at risk.

Jamie talked with Dr. Alicia Arbaje from Johns Hopkins University of Medicine about the dangers of these cost-saving ideas for seniors. Dr. Arbaje discussed what seniors are dealing with when it comes to the cost of prescription drugs and some ideas on what they can do to make sure they aren't cutting back on drugs.
