actually it's not crap, i found a way to unlock the planes, you have to do this for each level, for example for level 1 you need 1100 xp, you put 1099xp destroy a tank or whatever and you have level 2, for level 3 you do the same thing but with level 3 xp requirment -1xp. sadly i'm to lazy to do it, but definitely works, i've test it with level 39 and 40 and i got the su-47. i think the first mission is the best way to do this because you can destroy something in the first 20 seconds ( aprox ).

me too you have to set -1 score to gain level then play story mode just destroy one enemy then exit then you gain a bit of exp and there you level up
you got the plane for the next level
