The Ducks performing Little Wing in Santa Cruz sometimes in 1977. The Ducks (formerly known as the Jeff Blackburn Band) consisted of Jeff Blackburn, Bob Mosley, Neil Young, and Johnny Craviott.
This wasn't the 'Rolling Zuma Review', otherwise known as the 'Coastal Bar Tour' which happened in 1975 with Crazy Hose just before the release of Zuma .... The first time that Neil performed with Crazy Horse since the death of Danny Whitten. Frank 'Poncho' Sampedro had just joined the band .......
The Hawks and Doves solo version is breathtaking, beautiful, and a classic Neil moment. This is better!!! Shit, did I really just write that. The guitar and harmonies are perfect. Hope we get a Ducks show from Neil's archives.
i lived in santa cruz druing this time and went to almost all thier gigs. word of mouth only and cover was like 5 bucks tops. neil had a big rig with a trailor full of recording equipment and he shared some great mota with me and a freind.
