The Face of Imperialism- part 1 "Michael Parenti's The Face of Imperialism is a powerful, frightening, and honest book. It will be hated by those who run the Empire, and it will be loved by people who are searching for truth amidst the piles of garbage of Western propaganda. Above all, this book will be like a bright spark of hope for billions of men, women, and children who are fighting this very moment for survival, defending themselves against the Empire and against all monstrous faces and masks of imperialism." —Andre Vltchek, author of Western Terror: From Potosi to Baghdad

  • Thanks very much for uploading this talk. I consider Michael Parenti to be an incredibly intelligent man. A true AMERICAN.

  • @rumco No of course you don't want the government coercing you. But corporations and private firms, that's perfectly okay!

  • tutions are going up precisely because of loans... LoL..

parenti should stay out of economics and stick to Foreign policy..

  • @rumco I agree with you about the abolition of the state. As an anti-state socialist, this is what I believe in. The existence of government creates repression, debts, taxes, wars etc. I don't think it's fair to say he doesn't know economics; it certainly isn't his main area of study. I believe that voluntary collectivism can be freedom. Voluntary association, not government, is the solution. Governments are coercive by nature.. Etc. etc

  • @ebread511 Coherent argument in a YT comment? You're joking.

Why does he make a fool out of himself with such claims? He may be on a solid ground in Marxism and leftist propaganda (just like his right-wing opposition) but doesn't have a clue about economics.

I completely agree that the present system is screwed up big time. More of the same - State - is not the solution. Collectivism is not freedom, it's enslavement. Solution is the abolition of the State.

  • @rumco LOL @ you not listening to a word he said. Now, make a coherent argument related to the other 99% of his talk, and you're getting somewhere. It's funny how so many people who LOL @ socialism and LOL @ Marxism have never actually read Marx and know relatively nothing about those theories. I used to be one of those people.

  • LOL @ "Capitalism works for restaurants and maybe 3 or 4 other things, but otherwise it does not" and "I'm for socialism because it works".

Is this a comedy or is he on drugs? Or just another statist apologist paid with stolen money?

  • I, Max Rafael Waller, WAS a War Hawk that enrolled in NJROTC and joined the US Army.

The US military and Americans still ignore combat veterans like Butler's book "War is a Racket" and Eisenhower's speech on the Military-Industrial Complex.

Numerous Democrats and Republicans especially their financial donors validate observations from Michael Parenti, George Carlin, Bill Hicks, and courageous activists that can be blacklisted, blackballed, ostracized, and smeared.

  • good one. thanks.
