In a speech on the Senate floor, Senator Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) emphasizes that every pro-life senator should cast a no vote on allowing the Senate to consider the Democrats health care reform bill, which would require at least one government-sponsored insurance plan to cover abortion and would allow taxpayer dollars to subsidize such plans. All it would take, Senator Johanns points out, to defeat public funding of abortion is for one pro-life Senate Democrat to stand up for his or her principles and vote no on considering the bill.

  • Without the abortion coverage in the bill, it's still a piece of crap.

  • A State which funds racist sexist eugenics and calls it "reproductive rights" is reprehensible. Hitler had no right to exterminate the Jews yet Nazism and Hitler continue to live on.

  • DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD!

  • Please just be human, not partisan, and vote for life, no matter what the political affiliations are. Choose life with your votes.

  • Now, with the Senate's Nelson-Reid language and Mikulski amendment in place, a group of 10-12 pro-life Democrats led by Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan may very well REVOLT on supporting the bill, unless the Stupak amendment is added to the Senate version of the legislation. And if the Stupak amendment is added, that would probably prompt some pro-abortion Democrats to vote against the bill. RESULT: OBAMACARE DIES.

  • The House initially approved its bill on a three-vote margin only because it contained the Stupak amendment to ban abortion funding...

  • 1/10/10: On abortion, the Senate bill contains massive abortion funding by virtue of the Nelson-Reid abortion language in the bill that allows states to force taxpayers to fund abortions with government funds. It also contains the Mikulski amendment, which would allow the Obama administration to define abortion as "preventative care" and force insurance companies to use taxpayers' premiums to pay for them...

  • Lets see if this gets posted. I support FREE and prompt abortion services for all who need or want such services. Banning abortion rights under proposed health insurance reform is plain foolish. How about if YOU support forced birth, you must kick in $15,000 per year in support tax for the unwanted babies? Okay?

Roe v. Wade is the law - respect it please.

    Peace...

  • Top Catholic Cardinal Says 'No Way' Catholic Members of Congress Can Support Health Care Bill That Funds Abortion: A Catholic cardinal said that there is "no way" Catholic members of Congress can support the health care reform bill as long as it includes a provision that allows tax dollars to go to insurance plans that cover abortion. "Catholics make a distinction between health care and killing," said Cardinal Justin Rigali, the archbishop of Philadelphia.

Americans United for Life Action (AULA), a national anti-abortion group, has recently stated that it will vigorously fight the Senate healthcare bill, which was moved to debate by last Saturdays vote.
