  • @flatus69 Thanks! I used a Powershot SX20 IS, set to video mode, 1280X720 format, zoomed in about 20X. I was only about 20 feet away, hiding behind a tree. Camera is hand-held but I steadied myself against a tree. I stabilized the video later using Apple iMovie.

  • @dianab97330 That's a Canon Powershot SX20 IS. It's one of the non-interchangeable-lens "super zoom" cameras, and claims to be 35mm-equivalent to 28mm - 560mm. The zoom is very useful for capturing field marks of birds.

  • I was up there yesterday hiking through the burn area and saw 2 woodpeckers. They seemed larger size than your video but what a delight to watch and listen.
