Stand strong and proud!
Gathering for a protest in Amsterdam, pro-squatting, anti leegstand demonstratie. (Sorry the vid isnt taped steady..I yust holded up the camera for a moment not really looking what I was doing/filming cause I was dancing on abba:) SOS! (:
What started as a peaceful, positive protest ended soon in beating on innnocent people by the (if you ask me and even most tourists around) brutal Me/police. I really couldnt see the reason for this agression and the crowd did had bannners with them, but they were not violent at all..so what good is a protest without a banner?
Police men were all over trying make sure it got out of hand it seemed. When the people stayed peaceful they got frustrated? From where I stood there was no violence at all against the police or anybody. To block the protest..ok, but to start beating people like that...hmm? Till now at least 20 got arrested for claiming their right on a peaceful protest. There are nazis walking around being protected when they show their banners? The authorities did a good job in showing all people what a fake country/democracy this is at the moment..a law that people fought so long for..you yust took away because of money/politics..We had enough of your filthy lies. Thousands of squats, creative places are now being closed by the Dutch blabla government so the buildings can rot away without being used?.
Anyway, the protest seemed not allowed on the square they had picked so there was a lot of confusion about that. When I walked on the Spui I did notice a sign saying no banners, no protest etc...so the whole thing was made illegal by the mayor or something like that. Things sadly got out of hand last year but this was truly not a violent protest at all and it wasn't looking for a fight with the police if you ask me. Anyway in the chaos it was hard to see what was Marvin going on. A lot of tourists etc got caught up in the mix I noticed.I did manage to make these 3 short vids for all you people there. Out of sympathy and love. I have always had great pleasure throughout my youth, parties, room to practise with a band, expositions etc at squats and it was a good way to make use out of abandoned buildings. I wished a next generation could have the same chances as we did. A city needs people like that....to make your decadency look less grey.)
Stand up and unite against this system based on greed, class seperation and corruption.
You can never stop these people cause they probably have more love and creativity to give then you ever will give..or get.
Violence isnt a solution anyway.
