Part of the ACA SWR class is covering various mechanical advantage systems often used for unpinning boats. As always, use non-mechanical advantage techniques like the Armstromg method first. We intentionally set out to film what happens when a Z Drag component fails. Failures can be a rope snap, carabineer failure, or anchor failure. When this happens, the rest of the system becomes a very dangerous missile. Always wear your safety gear like helmets and PFD's when attempting any Z Drag rigging.
