Prime Minister Raila Odinga was today put to task in parliament to explain the viability of the urban poor subsidy program where some selected families are to get a cash handout of 1,500 shillings per month. Legislators sought to know the criteria of identifying the urban poor, the source of funds and measures put in place to ensure the funds are not misused. Raila however remained non-committal on the details of the program, stating that the cabinet was yet to discuss the proposal.
