Drove up from DC to see the Biennial, and Mr. Chan's installation made it all worth while. One of the most mesmerizing, disturbing, beautiful things I've ever seen. Can't say much about the rest of the show... highschool art mush, but who the hell am I to judge. Richard Serra's Stop Bush left an impression, but it and the room it was in was a wee bit cliche.  Nari Ward's 'Glory' was great.

also I love how the music from the Nan Golden-derived slide show worked better with Paul Chan's piece then it did with the slide show. I must have hung out in this room for a good 20 minutes.

yeah, this was good but not much else memorable at that show, don't you love the way the paintings get pushed aside in favor of some of the lamest installtion shit?

and what is with the guards at the whitney?

I think this is the best piece I saw at the W. Biennial. I'm glad the Gestapo guards didn't caught you while documenting! :)
