Melissa Minehart pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and abuse of a child and was setenced to 10years in prison. Melissa's mother Pamela D. Minehart was also setneced for her involvement with Codi's death.
She was given two years probation for the charge of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
According to court records, Minehart did nothing to stop her daughter, Melissa Minehart, from inflicting injuries to Codi that ultimately led to the child's death. Authorities said Minehart should have reported the abuse to the proper authorities. The injuires on Codi showed she had been repeatedly injured.
