I honestly just picked up the tumbi one day and decided to try and learn it. it took me about 2 years to learn most of the techniques on my own. I never had a strings background so it was difficult for me.
I never had any youtube videos to guide me at the time, but now there are many artists with many different styles out there.
It's a great and relatively simple instrument to pick up and learn. All the resources are out there - you just have to look for them! :)

Just a quick question if it's OK, I'm right handed, and I have just ordered my first Tumbi, but I'm confused as to which hand I should place at which end. Any Advice? Thanks!!

@HipHopNerd102 it's possible that egypt may have a similar instrument in their culture too! it's an instrument that spans many cultures, but the type I'm playing is found in Punjabi culture.
