Thank you for posting. The school system my kids are in has a real problem with wanting to label my kids.

I have a son with CP and a seizures, and a daughter diagnosed with ADD, who's on Methlyn. It's been a nightmare for us. I'm scared for my kids, being in the public school system and dealing with the medical community. We're getting nowhere fast and lost in the system. My kids childhood is flashing by, and they aren't getting any constructive help, just the minimal effort to cement jobs. My parenting skills are being scrutinized everyday. I'm calling this number!

the teachers and staff at the highschool i went to always wrote on my IEP that i was dark anti social and thought i had mental problems, and when i would get bored and just draw random stuff on my paper they would send it to the guidance office call my mom and tell her i was writeing satanic symbols on my paper when i was just doodleing and being creative with my letters making them look pretty. i hate it how school systems think you're mentally insane just because your'e learning disabled

The school system will put any label it can to take attention away from itself, to place it on a "problem" that can't be helped. If you can afford it, I'd send your children to tutors after school or try to find the "smart guy" of the neighborhood and ask him if he'll help your child out. Those always did the best. Delays are normal in all children and teachers sometimes make it worse by ignoring certain students.

Dont worry it is the same for me. The school system I'm in labeled me, and wanted me to be in "special classes" because I learn slower due to ADD. they were really rude about it too, and got me to believe I was really mentally reatarted. I can feel what your kids are oing through. Cant wait till I'm out of highschool.
