The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. Every week we field live calls from atheists and believers alike, and you never know what you're going to get! Sometimes it can get quite feisty indeed! You don't want to miss it.

Episode: #582
7 December, 2008
Topic: Another scamlet: "spin". Don talks about how God is like a lemon automobile that can only be sold through deception and slick marketing.

  • Religion is regarded by the common people as true,

    by the wise as false,

and by the Rulers as useful.

    ~Seneca the Younger

  • I totally agree. Religion is used in manipulating people in many ways. Thats really been the purpose of religion. If there was a natural disaster, then the religious leaders used that for their religious advantage. Give religious leaders money so you can go to heaven... and so on...

  • @sansdeity420 islam is based on the same basic religious belief that christianity is.

  • @sansdeity420 Maybe you should do some reaserch before you ramble on, LOL. Don said that CHRISTIANS claimed that Muslims were God less.

  • @gulbirk are you some kind of fucking idiot? those people are more adamant about their faith and steadfast in their convictions than ANY christian will ever be. they're godless in the sense that god doesnt exist, but as far as following beliefs go, they've got you christ-stains beaten by miles and miles

  • Wait a sec, back up there. Saddam Hussein as a godless person. Sure, much in the same way Al Quida is godless.

  • Vote for whoever the priesthood sa...err..(cough sputter)...whoever GOD says to vote for!

  • He votes for me, he wants me to rule the earth and you monkeys just don't understand that yet.

(I barely managed to type that with a straight face)

I thought god wanted Jesus (in other words, himself) to rule everything, so why would he be backing any of us poo flingers?

  • If I DID believe in a God I couldn't think of a worse debasement to that god, a worse insult, then to think such a god of the universe would favour a POLITICIAN. Not one of any stripe.

Now I don't believe in any gods, but the fact that many people who do intertwine their god with not just politics, but with the most crooked and malicious forces in politics says alot about their faith, and none of it good.

  • I so agree with this show right now. I totally wish there was an atheism party.

  • God is a republican

  • @Homeboy2000 I'd say pope wins by submission.Rare naked CHOKE!!
