The Three Boys greet the oncoming morning and determine to rescue Pamina from despair . . .

The First Boy is played by William Dutton. Will is a member of The Choirboys whose new CD, The Carols Album, has just been released.

The Magic Flute, directed by Kenneth Branagh, is now at cinemas across the UK.

  • This, by the way, is EXCEPTIONAL, although a very strange production. I've attended a good few Zauberflote productions, and Dutton remains the best treble I've ever heard sing this role...it might be because this was recorded in the studio and not live performance...has he ever sung the role in the house? In English or German?...has his voice broken? Personally...I'd still prefer it to be sung in German with English subtitles.

  • As far as I aware Will Dutton is still singing treble.

You may be interested to know that this September, Will is starting at the world-famous Yehudi Menuhin School, where he will be studying violin and singing.

  • This is great...but very strange to hear it in English.

  • But more understandable if you are English!

  • I I think Imdb resents this film, Judging from what films they recomend people who liked this one.

  • Spaceballs, The Thief of Baghdad, Star Wars and The Flight of Dragons - how bizarre is that little collection!

  • It's pure fantasy, so the dream sequence is a new take. Who cares what language they sing in, it's the music which speaks and it does so in all, and any language. Delightful.

  • Now i'll be the first one to admit that i hate Trebles with a passion. This is the only example that i have been able to find that i achualty seem to enjoy a bunch of trebles singing. Maybe my ears just changing.

  • @Hahnimkorb100 im a music teacher and ex cathedral choirister yes there are different disciplines of a treble choirister and there will be more superior singers from era to era take ernest lough, aled jones, terry wey, anthony way i can list them but not enough space to post all of them.i cast my judgement from a professional musicians point of veiw

  • @Hahnimkorb100 Thank you for sending this clip and the recommendation of my channel !

  • @TheAngelsong1 "Sung to perfection" ? Sorry but perfect singing the "Three boys" - for my taste - are the boy soloists of the Tölzer Knabenchor to find at the channel of Toelzerfanclever - for example...:)

  • superb, hard piece to sing ,sung to perfection

  • Those kids sang sing their asses off! Amazing.

  • @GermanOperaSinger some parts are so funny in English I kind of laughed

  • lyrics??? XD

  • they sing like little rats!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree. How come her singing is so weak? The high notes r terrible!

Well I'd say it's lack of technique and experience, as she was only 21 at the time of filming.
