1MillionShirts is a charitable campaign created by Jason Sadler, creator of IWearYourShirt.com. Currently in his second year of business, he has worn a different t-shirt for companies all over the world for almost 500+ consecutive days!

As a result of his success with IWearYourShirt.com, he would like to help those in need by encouraging individuals to donate to his cause, 1MillionShirts. It is through this collaborative nationwide (and potentially worldwide) effort that Jason hopes to bring together a diverse group of individuals for one common goal — to gather 1,000,000 shirts.

Its a very broad statement to say were donating t-shirts to Africa so here are a handful of countries we know might be receiving your t-shirts: Kenya, Uganda, DRC, Ghana, Liberia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, Swaziland and South Africa. Its very likely that well be sending t-shirts at different times (not 1,000,000 at a time!) and we hope to get tons of great photos and videos of the shirts being distributed.

  • This is a stupid idea. Sending shirts from North America floods the African marketplace with our shitty goods causing their local economies to dwindle. Meaning that African clothing factories are unable to compete and close down- which means a loss of jobs in the area, which means they become more and more dependent on North American give away crap. I really hope that you decide to do some research concerning Aid Work. It's nice that you care, but you come across as arrogant.

  • @irenemwangi you do realize the project is over right? check the website for more info.

  • This is a ridiculous, silly and inappropriate project.Just because you see poor Africans without shirts in documentaries does not mean that they need left over shirts from your wardrobe. Do research first! There are already many shirts shipped to Africa as second hand clothes waiting to be bought-(by you lol). Africans need a recognition of the pople what they need-not what you want to dump in Africa

  • Nice one dude.. that one will help the North Africans... ignore the ignorance comments here ... we all know the whole of Africa is not rich, there alot alot of poor ones, so why insult this nice guy, he is making an impact.. make ur own impact idiots

  • fucking retarded idiot,u think African people are so poor to need ur useless t-shirt. i bet u never travel to any of the country, just sit ur dummy ass at home and talk rubbish, junkies.u better think well ass hole, stupid Americans

  • So what did you end up doing about shipping your shirts overseas to Africa?

  • I believe you have good intentions, but here's a real perspective on what actually happens with 2nd hand clothes going into poor countries. This video is in Zambia, but it happens in all poor countries. It is a must see before you continue in this persuit:

    search: T-shirt Travels on youtube

  • As someone who has been working overseas in development, consulting, emerging markets, this project has potential to do significantly more harm than good. Although it's already been pointed out that this can kill local retailers, economies, a greater problem is in how derogatory this is towards "Africa". The incredibly diverse people of Africa deserve more dignity than that. Africa is beautiful, and is not synonymous with poverty.

  • The video is staying up for now until we speak on a public conference call tomorrow. We've taken tons of feedback and will be shifting focus. The video will not be deleted until I speak with all parties involved (aid workers, bloggers, etc) and they are comfortable with it being removed.

  • All kinds of terrible.
