  • It's a jewel to me. I like martial arts (practice some), when I saw this I couldn't believe it. It's a dream. I'm not a Bruce Lee fan, but I remember him to have said that dancers had the perfect physical conditions and training methods for martial arts. This is the demonstration. It's like having found the Higgs boson and explained gravitation! My gratitude for you!

  • @solnegrolunaroja And totally my pleasure to share it with the community. :) I definitely agree with what you're saying. It -is- like a dream! Oh btw, there was this interview where Lin Hwai-Min's elaborates on what kind of training he put the dancers through. It was indeed very martial arts-like. One part that stuck with me was where he said that he let the dancers carry heavy rocks the entire time so that they're more connected to the ground and gave a better sense of gravity. :D Brilliant!

  • Sooooo inspiring! Thanks for posting.

  • My absolute pleasure. ;) When I saw this I knew I had to make it widely available to others. I still want to do Moon Water, that one is also incredibly beautiful.

  • Finally, I am going to see they perform Moon Water this weekend at Vancouver... I can't wait!!!

Where did you get the Cursive DVDs? order online?

  • OMG! You're going to their performance?! That's really awesome, hope they're even better live. ;)

And a local rental-place had de dvd lying around (don't ask me why), so I rented that and put it up here. :) Oh, I just looked them up and saw that they will be coming to Amsterdam to perform Wild Cursive. I'll totally be there like white on rice! :p

  • @Mishupafmaf I saw it in People and Arts, I think. Brilliant, indeed. There is a long tradition of weight lifting amongst martial artist since the days of Indian Vajramushti and Kalaripayat, several kung fu and karate styles does the same. I don't remember the names, but he had the help of two "Sifus" of traditional kung fu and wushu; the performers did it outstandingly, they truly use their strength. Sometimes martial artists use the word "dance" in a pejorative way. Must to think twice! :)

  • so beautiful! wonderful, love and peaceful...really great!!

  • that's amazing how they move, so fluid, so graceful, stunning lines!

  • I am a fan of Cloud Gate for many years. Their lperformance always makes me cry. Don't miss their live performance and get good seats if that is possible for you.
