@enderwign Yes it is more than irritating. It fucking hurts. The only option is to cut back the strings which usually means it will have to be surgically removed when it's time for it to come out.

I fucking hate this thing. It has turned my gf into a completely different person and we are on the verge of breaking up because of it. She was the best thing that ever happened to me and mirena was the worst thing that's ever happened to either of us. Any doctor who tries to peddle this life destroying peice of shit deserves to be tortured to death.

Lisaraye/lifes2short is just upset because she has Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and keeps getting loads blown up her ass.

Here's another why to not have kids, just go on her face or something.

It goes inside the cervix. If you're entering the cervix during sex, you may want to have your partner see a doctor.
...Although I bet running into the string would be pretty irritating.

"Happily, if you change your plans, Mirena can be removed." Is the device happy that it's getting removed? What the fuck?

Full side effects are not disclosed. Mirena will cause cystic acne, increased facial hair, decreased estrogen levels, joint pain, fatigue, dizziness, anxiety, depression, mood disorder, decreased libido, mental cloudiness, clumsiness, speech problems, shortness of breath & palpitations while at rest......to name a few. If you contact your GYN, they will tell you the side effects you are experiencing are not those of MIrena. You may be prescribed more medication with worse side effects.....

I love these commercials about birth control. Instead of a pill or what ever this is, don't have sex.
Yes! I'm 19 with no children & I have mirena. It's great. I hate how the commercial says that candidates have had a child. Insertion may be more difficult if you don't have a child because your cervix will be a bit more stubborn, but that's the only real difference. It's a shame that so many younger girls who generally are not married & don't have the income to take care of a child are not aware that they can get IUDs, since they are extremely reliable (more effective than a tubal litigation)!
