I began learning the vibrato a few weeks ago and i was able to produce a wrist vibrato. Then i tried an arm vibrato but 2 minutes in, my left upper arm begins to feel sore. And when i try to speed it up, it just turns into a wrist vibrato. Can you please give me some advice on this? :)

professorv, do professionals use hand or wrist vibrato? I can do both, but i don't know which one to use. What do professionals usually do? I know through experience that hand vibrato is a lot harder

why do arm vibrato is more easier than the wrist for me?
i learned it just a few minutes(not perfect, but can create vibrato)?
do finger vibrato exists(unknown vibrato that i used but sounds perfectly, and it defies the rule of playing the violin)

Is it possible that having carpal tunnel in the left wrist will inhibit my ability to do wrist vibrato? I've played violin for seven years and still can't do vibrato.
can this apply to viola?

Hi AnarchismDizzy, Wrist vibrato (also called hand vibrato) is the place to start. Arm vibrato can really be great, but requires a lot more effort to produce, making it harder on the body. If possible, learn wrist first and then augment with arm.
