@sixstrings1221 I would greatly appreciate it if you didn't. I fervently believe that two hands working are far more powerful than ten thousand hands folded in prayer. If you want to make some kind of impact with me, go join the Peace Corps, donate money to a no-kill animal shelter, or hand out sandwiches to the homeless. Prayer accomplishes absolutely nothing.

@flyboy4361x i'm praying for you, man.
-
@flyboy4361x ironic how the same "poor simple folk" are the ones paying you for your steady gig.
-
@flyboy4361x Lol, I can't say I've ever had anyone tell me not to pray for them before. I will abide by your request. I suppose I should have phrased it better as I don't associate myself with any major denominations, you are right in that aspect as well. However, there are plenty of other religions that believe that Jesus is Lord and yet are not Christian. There's plenty of stereotypical Christian stuff that I don't believe in or follow.

@RoadkillD418 I must take issue with your response on two levels. You seem to associate yourself quite closely with one of the three major religions in our wonderful world. To believe that god is your savior etc. etc. is to say that you are a Christian. You may be a non-denominational Christian, but a Christian you are nonetheless. The other thing is that I would ask that you not 'pray for me.' What would you say, I wonder? Would you ask your deity bring me what you have? I don't want it.

@flyboy4361x I can agree with that. I don't associate myself with any major religions. I simply believe that God is my savior, and that by the blood of Jesus I have been healed and will go to heaven after I die, rather than simply turn to nothingness. I appreciate your very well mannered response. :) I shall say a prayer for you tonight, sir.

@sixstrings1221 Good call there, champ. What clued you in?

@RoadkillD418 By the way, I ran out of space in the last post to answer your question: I'm a freelance musician, and I have a steady gig in a church that is open-minded enough to hire an atheist bassist (athebassist?) I have to listen to this drek from time to time in order to be prepared for my job. Professionalism is indeed key to being a professional musician.

@RoadkillD418: I should clarify. I don't harbor any sort of resentment toward those who practice religion (aside from, perhaps, the outright zeal with which they persecute those of us who do not believe). Whatever you feel you need to do to find comfort and succor, great. What I take issue with is the idea of religion in general; it is disingenuous, poisonous to free thought, and, all too frequently, outright abusive.

@flyboy4361x Why are you watching a Christian video if you don't believe in God? And even if God isn't real, which I'm not saying he isn't -- I believe in Him with all my heart -- what is so wrong about believing in a higher power, that makes me wake up every morning with a smile on my face? What's so wrong in believing that after this life is something MORE? That doesn't make us simple. It makes us smart. So, don't have pity on us. Envy us. You should YEARN for something more in this life.
Jeff Deyo is not an entertainer, he's a worship leader. There's a huge difference.
