  • Communism is when the government owns the means of production.

Fascism is when the means of production owns the government.

  • @BristolPalinsBabyDad So, is there any reason to believe our country is NOT in danger of being overtaken by fascism?

  • This video describes corporatist America perfectly.

  • @Aishahness Essentially, that's the point!

  • what is the name of the movie? please

  • @darkgrapeful "Despotism" - the title at the beginning of the film is the actual title of the original.

  • fascinating to see Americans taking their loyalty oath. Fascinating too how he skates over how Hitler was able to legally seize power. The main instrument was the so called "enabling act". The USA Patriot bears more than a slight resemblance to it and thru it the president can now deploy troops in mainland US and has the power to unleash mercenaries on the citizens--as with Blackwater in New Orleans.

Americans! keep telling yourself how wonderful and free and democratic your country is. Beware

  • @Arikiel No surprise there. If I asked people what nation on the earth had the worst experience with fascism, I think most would say Germany. I can only speculate how, if I were German, what chills I might feel by the mere mention of the word.

We Americans have the hubris to think it could never happen here, which is why it's also not surprising that we're flirting with it now.

Simple formula: the greater the vigilance, the less likely fascism will take hold

  • Notice that the pledge had no reference to God!!

  • Rollerball

  • @DeistPaladin Indeed. It doesn't matter if it's the corporations or the government that have the power. Extremes examples of fascism and communism look the same because it's the concentration of power that's the problem. For a fair and equitable society it needs to be distributed as evenly as possible among the people. Ironically one of the countries that seems to have the best balance these days is Germany. >.<

  • @BristolPalinsBabyDad Precisely why I believe in a wraparound at the extreme left and right (or the two sides begin to look alike as you go to their extremes). Whether it's corporations taking over the government or vice-versa, you have a concentration of power and wealth at the very top. As this video reviews, such a system can't abide with democracy for very long.

  • It was predicted long ago that when fascism comes to America, it would be carrying a Bible and draped in a flag.

The part about wearing a tricorner hat and riding about in a Medicare-provided hoveround was a surprise.

  • @ThePitofSidLord

    So far.

  • @vids4dan Yeah the private interests are getting all the wealth and all the control over the media.

  • Revolution!
