Michael Shermer delivers presentation on "Why People Believe Weird Things" at Collin County Community College (CCCCD) Spring Creek campus in Plano, Texas.

Excuse quality & cuts. I got very close to recording the entire presentation, but my batteries only held out for as long as they could. I cut the quality a third of the way through to keep it going.

  • Conspiracy theories on 9/11 are simply insulting ,especially to those families whose members got killed by the event. These people just seem to care only about their own unverifiable theories and don't give a damn about the impact on the victims' families. Pretty pathetic to say the least.

  • There is no evidence to support claims that it was the Bush Administration. There is no way they would be able to keep such a large operation under wraps. Nixon couldn't even keep a 4 man operation secret scamming some paper. Besides the fact that the terrorist took credit for it people involved were tracked down. It doesn't make sense to believe something with so little evidence. The terrorist had more than enough reason to do it and didn't need any help.

  • @dragnet53 Most of these critics are nothing more than DIA. The only thing they are good at is disseminating lies. They lack the ability to use their brains, in conjunction with their INTUTION, because they are completely oblivious to such things.

But they sure do try to make everyone think they are smart now don't they. Go out of their way even!

  • @camino1ca The goddamned morons like you plague our world. You give hope to the morons of the world who wish to appear more intelligent!

  • @sunfireThu you do know there are family members of 9/11 victims that belive 9/11 was an inside job right?

  • @camino1ca-my common sense tells me that the Bush Administration didn't plan 9-11, just from the fact that it worked.

  • @sunfireThu I've never understood why it's necessary to believe some fairy tale about a dead man with a laptop in Afghanistan hijacking the world's best defended airspace using 19 guys armed with with hardware tools, to show that you respect the memory of the 9/11 victims and the feelings of their loved ones. It's pretty shameful how Skeptics like you claim those victims as your own and weild them as a Human Shield of moral blackmail at "Conspiracy nuts" like me who want to expose this atrocity!

  • Science is correct. Ufos could be real, however. NOT alien abductions, but maybe the sightings of paranormal craft (extraterrestrials perhaps).

  • As soon as he said he investigated for NBC I lost interest.....Goodbye.

  • 990 bucks for that piece of dowsing crap??? I almost spit my coffee at the monitor when I heard that. Hard to believe some people are that dirt stupid to believe that something like that would work.

  • @sunfireThu Good for you, it's nice to hear that not everybody on the internet is crazy. Thumbs up.

  • @sunfireThu I in no way agree with any of the nutty conspiracy theories, but one thing that had always got me about 9/11 is how the buildings fell. I just find it hard to believe that a building would fall like that after a plane smashed into the side of it. Some things don't add up.
