He was invited to the development camp. Future Habs singing. A usually reliable swedish hockey blogger says Habs will sign Djurgårdens IF center Andreas Engqvist. He also says that Engqvist is most likely to spend one more season in SEL before going to NA. He's contracted until after the 2010/2011 season though he could have an out if an NHL team wants him.

A big and strong two-way center. Engqvist has good hockey sense and a fine passing game. Reads the game very well and his defensive game is quite good. His skating is fairly good, although he could improve both his acceleration and top speed. Considering Engqvist has such a large frame, he does not really play physical and should improve that aspect of his game.

  • @TheKira0802 3rd

  • @92joehal chek out real future star joel armia fron here youtube ;)

  • He was really good with Marcus Kruger and Jacob Josefson. Wonder why they moved him down to the 3th line

  • @LeMAD22 I agree. The Habs already have Pleky, Gomez, Lapierre and Boyd for centers, and that doesn't include new-comer Eller, and Desharnais, who has all the potential to be the next Marty St-Louis type player. Engqvist should definitely get some experience playing a full year or two in the AHL.

With guys like Engqvist, Eller, Avtsin, Nattinen, and Pacioretty (who, let's not forget, is only turning 22 this year), the Habs' future looks a lot brighter today than it did 15 years ago... even 10!

  • Seems he's Hamilton bound this year.

  • he is going to crack the roster this year, in his contract it said he would play in sewden for one more year and then come to canada this year, hes the big centerman that we have been looking for he will be the man to replace moore.

  • i hope he can crack the roster..

  • Il a été élu MVP pour le tournois du trophé Nordic. Je crois que c,est un beau petit bijoux qu'on s,est trouvé là.

  • that and he plays the same style of hockey

  • hahaha why lol ? cuz he's #21 ?? :P xD
