  • Exact video I've been looking for. I'm still trying to understand the benefit of using leaders? Can you please explain? I just purchased Penn Fierce 5000 (basspro shop). I will use 30 lb braid. I was told to use a 3-4 ft mono leader line. Again I don't quite understand why use leaders? I'm thinking the 30 lb braid would be strong enough to handle stripers. Am I wrong? Thanks.

  • @Unplugged704 It has nothing to do with the strength of your braid. Leaders are used for every style of fishing regardless of mainline strength. Leaders are used as chafe guards against a fishes teeth, underwater structure, and most importantly, you cannot land a fish by hand without a leader, wrap some braid around your arm and hand and simulate the weight of a fish and the thrashing motion and tell me how that ends up...not safe.

  • just an idea is to put links where you can order some of this stuff online

  • @billyxx364 That's what our massive website is for :-)
