@msvickyfranco OMG, Im from san Jose too, and I can't find a decent nail salon that doesn't do garishly thick nails!!! >_< THis technique, I've seen in London though. A bit higher end than other salons, but superb! (have you found a salon that does this btw? Share, share!)

I wish many others would use this technique. The spend too much time grinding the nail, priming, and then putting so much acrylic on the nails they start lifting in three days. BEAUTIFUL job.
The primer is supposed to cover the whole nail (except the false tip) and you dont want to get it on your skin. The reason we use the drill is to file the real nail down a bit and that makes the acrylic stay on and it keeps it from lifting.
They are really cute and natural looking =) Not bad though. winnie the pooh, instead of being so rude to her, why not tell her, not everyone has the time to go and get actual training, its not as important if your not working at a salon.

@AlisonHopeRankin "WRONG", you dont have to use a drill to file the real nail down at all .......
All you have to do is remove surface contaminates and oils, a drill should NEVER be used on a natural nail.
Al it needs is a cleanse and a gentle buff

If this system is so great (not an insult, I'm actually dying to try it) then why hasn't it made it to the States yet? It's been out for a while now. I want to get it but I don't want to pay a fortune to get it from austraila. Is there another version, besides illume, like this that is more accessible for those of us in the States?

@nerdyolisa hahahah, and as an American I bet you think everything comes from America, it's costs many dollars to develop a product and method then to market it etc.
There are brilliant products all over the world .... think outside the box (America) ... no insult intended, but it's a BIG world out there.
