LOL.. You better check the history of Datok Meor. He's a Bugis descent and his silat (Silat Gayong) traced back to a Bugis warrior. Do you know where the Buginese coming from? - It's Indonesia.
Silat and Pencak Silat is like "Mike is actually Michael". It's one and the same thing, and it's originated in Indonesia.

Silat comes from Indonesia. There 're a lot of ethnic in Indonesia and every ethnic has its own style, such as, Javanese silat(from central & East Java). Minangese(West Sumatera),Sundanese(West Java) Bugese(South Sulawesi),etc. You can't count all of these styles in Indonesia, cause it;s too many. Malay is one of the style, but it doesn't mean that silat comes from malay. In every region itself, there re so many styles, for instance, Sundanese silat have Cimande, Cikalong, Sibunder(Betawi), etc.
