Yep, happened completely by chance on the first video attempt. Don't think I could make that happen again if I tried. I've seen people activate the Reptile vs Reptile battle on cheat mode in MAME but this is from the actual original version. Embarassing that I lost, but hey couldn't use the block.

It might just be a coincidence but the ability to play reptile in the first or fourth game without using block happens for every character (except Sonja). The only difference is when scorpion is selected. The "tune" is different when you defeat Reptile. Is Reptile selectable? - wish I'd hit the continue button now. Will post the different sounding "tune" for the Scorpion Reptile battle -so you can judge for yourselves.
